Deadline for submissions: Wednesday 31 July 2013, 6pm
Working in partnership with Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and the Royal Academy of Arts, The Architecture Foundation has launched an open call for multidisciplinary design teams to submit portfolios for their chance to take part in a high-profile workshop and exhibition exploring new ideas and visions for sites along the tidal Thames.
The shortlisted teams will then take part in a public design workshop in September where they will present their proposals to a panel of expert advisors including Patricia Brown, Director, Central; Deputy Chair of the Mayor’s Design Advisory Panel (Chair); Eric Parry, Principal, Eric Parry Architects; Graham Stirk, Senior Partner, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners; and Susannah Wilks, Director, Cross River Partnership, as well as a general audience. The ideas presented will subsequently be exhibited from September as part of the 'Future of London' section of the Richard Rogers: Inside Out exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts.
The application process:
Design teams are asked to submit portfolios of their past work along with a covering letter that explains why they are interested in this initiative, which site(s) they wish to work with along the Thames and what issues(s) they are keen to address. Shortlisted teams will be given an honorarium to work up design proposals ahead of the public presentation on Sunday 22 September 2013.
