Oxley Woods wins Housing Design Award
Oxley Woods has been recognised a winner of the 'Large Housebuilder' category of the Housing Design Awards 2008. The award was presented by Caroline Flint, Minister for Housing and Planning, at a ceremony on 3 July at the Banqueting House, Whitehall. The team was delighted with the award which promotes excellence and sustainability in house design and is promoted by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).
Andrew Partridge, Project Architect at Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, said: "This award is recognition of the very real potential of the Oxley Woods scheme for the UK housing market; we are confident that the approach we are continuing to develop towards mass housing design will be rolled out across many new sites across the country in the future."
As well as the DCLG, the Housing Design Awards are promoted by the National House-Building Council, the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Royal Town Planning Institute. Awards are made at two stages: for projects of high quality where the scheme has detailed planning permission but is not yet finished and occupied, and for completed schemes of outstanding merit.
