Juan is one of the best architectural designers I’ve worked with, has a great creative capacity and a talent for managing teams.
Giancarlo Mazzanti, El Equipo Mazzanti
Juan Laguna is an associate partner at Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, London. He joined the practice in the Madrid office to work on Terminal 4 of Madrid Barajas airport in 2003, playing a key role designing the Satellite Building and working on the design phases and construction of the State Pavilion. Within the large project team, he took the lead on design coordination and integration, ensuring consistency and coherency of design across the disciplines.
Juan’s rigourous intellectual approach to design has been applied across the wide variety of projects he has worked on for the practice, from urban masterplanning in Valladolid and Bilbao, to designing a bridge for Campus Palmas Altas in Seville and the proposed Caracas National Stadium in Venezuela.
His experience covers all stages of the design process, from
competitions including the competition for a Government complex in the new city
of Amaravati in India, through the planning and detail design stages and
construction management, as on Bodegas Protos in Spain’s Ribera del Duero
He is currently working on Atrio, a mixed-use commercial development in central Bogota comprising two towers with a large, open public space at ground level. Based in the London office, Juan was project architect for the concept and scheme design phases of the two towers, which are now under construction. He is now leading the design of the arts and convention centre on the same site.
