Torsten joined Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners in 1996. He has been involved in projects throughout Europe and the UK.
His broad experience spans work on concept and feasibility ideas, through to detailed design and execution on site with particular emphasis on mixed-use schemes made up of a number of complex elements combined to create vibrant new urban quarters.
He is currently project architect for Sporting d’Hiver, a mixed-use scheme in the heart of Montecarlo composed of high-end residential, a new retail street, a conference centre, offices and an art gallery. The project is currently under construction and due to be completed by the end of 2018. He lead the design development and execution of the new civic centre of Scandicci, just outside Florence. This civic hub includes a new tram station linking Florence to Scandicci, residential accommodation, offices and a multi-functional cultural building, all grouped round an open piazza.
Torsten was a site architect for the Millennium Dome and T4, Barajas Airport. Other key projects include a mixed-use development in Frankfurt and Tower Bridge House - an office development at St Katharine’s Dock, London. He also worked on the fit-out of Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport and a large mixed-use scheme in Seoul, South Korea. Born in Germany, Torsten has been closely involved with the co-ordination of RSHP’s German projects and competition entries.
