Hesperia Hotel & Conference Centre
The Hesperia Hotel and Conference Centre will form a new landmark in the rapidly developing urban centre of L’Hospitalet, Catalonia’s second largest city. The brownfield site, ten kilometres west of Barcelona, lies adjacent to la Gran Via, a busy motorway that leads out to the airport and which is to be transformed into an attractive new boulevard.
The scheme will introduce a mix of uses into an established area that accommodates residential blocks, hospitals and sports centres. The centrepiece of the scheme is a 105-metre high, 30-storey flagship hotel tower which will provide a striking entry point into Barcelona. In addition to the 304-room hotel, there is a 4,500 square metre conference centre, a 400-seat auditorium, two restaurants, a 1,500 square metre headquarters building for Hesperia and a 5,900 square metre sports club.
