Ken Kinsella - Director of Capital Development at LSE
Lorna joined Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) in 2007. She was made an Associate in 2011, a Senior Associate in 2016 and an Associate Partner in 2021.
As a project architect and team leader, Lorna is skilled at navigating both the big picture and technical detail through all stages. She has extensive stakeholder consultation experience, is pragmatic in her approach and fosters collaborative working relationship with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Lorna was the project architect for the London School of Economics Centre Building, a sustainable landmark academic building at the heart of the school’s Aldwych campus located within the Strand Conservation Area.
The scheme included the creation of a new public square as well as much needed teaching facilities and academic offices. Lorna led RSHP’s team from RIBA stage 2 through to completion, taking part in extensive consultation with LSE stakeholders, as well as overseeing Design Team coordination and project specification.
From 2009-2013 Lorna was a core team member for the British Museum World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre project, a state-of-the-art extension next to the existing Grade 1 listed museum which includes exhibition space, conservation studios, laboratories, and flexible office accommodation. Her role focused on the external envelopes of the building and the detailed development of the Special Exhibitions gallery and support facilities. Lorna was involved in detailed consultations with museum user groups, committees, and trustees throughout the project.
Lorna is currently working on a major extension to the British Library which will provide new facilities to expand the Library’s outreach, education, and exhibitions programmes; a flexible life science hub and Cross Rail 2 infrastructure. She is leading the detailed development of the Library accommodation for the scheme and runs the user group consultations.
Lorna is a core member of RSHP’s Sustainability group and is also part of the office’s recruitment team.
