Qiantan Shanghai Pudong is situated within the Qiantan District in Pudong, Shanghai, fronting the Huangpu River. The Qiantan location boasts a unique natural environment with large areas of rolling green lush riverside embankments and a vibrant waterfront.
The Qiantan Shanghai Pudong residential blocks and towers are positioned around the generous central garden creating a quiet and peaceful oasis for residents to promenade and relax on their way to enter the buildings. The three residential towers are located parallel to the river to maintain a formal visual street frontage. To permit extensive views over the Huangpu River and distant views back to Shanghai and the Lujiazui skyline from deeper within the development, the towers are staggered, with chamfered building corners maximising these view corridors.
The residential units vary from one- and two-bedroom apartments to extensive two-storey penthouses boasting living areas with extensive views, natural light and cross-ventilation for comfort. The living rooms with large expanses of glazing offer generous river views whilst the bedrooms focus on the quiet central garden. All apartments have access to an eternal space, a corner balcony or terrace, whilst narrow floor plates allow natural cross-ventilation. All parking has been contained below ground level to maximise the green public space.
All apartments can be entered from the central communal garden via an external glazed lift articulated in bright yellow. Movement and colour of this architectural component create a vibrant and dynamic impression in the public space. The apartments are complemented by a clubhouse and retail facilities which animate the streetscape creating a lively, joyful character. Sunken private gardens enhance the flow of light to the clubhouse whilst offering covered private access to the residencies.
The garden landscape and the buildings are accessible from all four corners of the development, screened from the surrounding urban environment by perimeter hedges and tall glass fences to create an intimate central garden as a contrast to the extensive riverside park.
The project is currently on site. Construction went above ground in September 2019, and the development is expected to be fully completed and furbished at the end of 2021.
